Estimates only, not legal or tax advice. Rates last checked : the provident fund (10% from the employee and 10% from the employer) is section 52 of the Labour Act 2074, and gratuity (8.33% from the employer) is section 53. Under the Social Security Act 2075 the employee also pays 1% and the employer 1.67%, for 31% in all; 28.33% (the provident fund and gratuity) goes to old-age protection and 2.67% to the medical, maternity, accident, disability and dependent-family schemes, whose split the Fund sets and has revised. The totals here leave out what the Fund earns on your balance and any pension it pays instead of a lump sum. For the income tax effect, put your contributions into the Nepal Salary Tax Calculator.
