DNS lookup

See the A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, NS, SOA, CAA and SRV records of a domain, or the PTR (reverse DNS) name of an IP address, with how long each may be cached. For a closer look at SPF, DKIM and DMARC, use the email DNS checker.

All common types covers A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, NS, SOA and CAA. For SRV, enter a service name such as _imaps._tcp.gmail.com, or just a domain to try the common ones. For PTR, enter an IP address.

RESOLVER

Pressing Look up sends the domain or IP address you enter to Cloudflare's public DNS resolver, or to Google's if you pick it or Cloudflare doesn't answer. Nothing is sent before you press it.

EXAMPLES

This page looks records up over DNS-over-HTTPS. When you press Look up, the name you entered goes to Cloudflare (cloudflare-dns.com) or, if you choose it or Cloudflare doesn't answer, to Google Public DNS (dns.google). For an IP address the page sends its reverse DNS name, such as 8.8.8.8.in-addr.arpa; for SRV with only a domain, it sends a short list of common service names under that domain. Like any website, the resolver also sees your IP address; nothing else is sent, and nothing is stored here. Google is asked not to pass part of your IP address on to the domain's name servers. Answers come from the resolver's cache, so a record you have just changed can show its old value until its TTL runs out. Public resolvers can't see private, internal DNS zones.
