Codes are made in your browser with qrcode-generator (MIT licence), loaded from cdnjs with an integrity check; nothing you type is sent anywhere. Higher error correction keeps a code readable when it is printed small, smudged or has a logo over it, at the cost of a denser code. Keep the quiet zone at 4 squares for reliable scanning, and test a printed code with your phone before you rely on it.
